Leclerc announced this Friday on Franceinfo the return of fuel at cost price in its 696 stations for this weekend of March 4 and 5. Michel-Edouard Leclerc indicated that this gesture represents “5 to 6 cents of effort the time when we do the cost price”.
“There are a lot of French people returning from vacation this weekend and we are going to offer them the cheapest possible fuel. Before strikes, possible blockages and perhaps shortages, it is an effort that we are making for the French, ”he explained.
Leclerc has indicated that he will make this gesture in the long term if he obtains guarantees from Total. “Total is an oil producer, I don’t produce oil and I can’t guarantee today that I’m going to buy it under good conditions, in two weeks. If Total guarantees me, as one of its best customers – that it will give me this rebate, I undertake to return it in full,” he promised.
