[北京 16日 ロイター] – China’s foreign ministry said on Wednesday it was a “grave violation” of China’s sovereignty over Japan’s territorial claims over disputed waters in the East China Sea.

“The China Coast Guard has carried out law enforcement on the ground in accordance with the law. It is a legitimate measure to protect China’s sovereignty,” spokesperson Wang Wenbin said at a regular press conference. Responded to questions regarding the Japan Coast Guard’s claims that the Japan Coast Guard had intruded into territorial waters around the Senkaku Islands (Chinese name: Diaoyu Dao).

The Chinese side said it was a “measure to counter intrusion into Chinese territorial waters” by Japanese vessels.
