He’s irresistible right now. For the fourth time in a row, Spaniard Jorge Martin (Ducati-Pramac) won the sprint race on Saturday, thus taking the lead in the MotoGP world championship. Starting just behind pole sitter Luca Marini (Ducati-VR46), he stole the show from the reigning world champion, the Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who is now seven points behind in the general standings (328 to 321). The latter had also completely missed his qualifications, and will start from the 5th row, Sunday October 15, on the starting grid for the Indonesian GP.
The Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), crowned in 2021, seems to have found some color at the end of the season, and will start in fourth position following finishing fifth in the sprint the day before. It will be more difficult for Johann Zarco (Ducati-Pramac), 14th at the start on the grid. 15th round of the world championship out of the 20 events on the program this season, this Indonesian GP marks the start of a particularly exceptional final sprint between Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia.
