After the number of corona infections increased during the past period, the caretaker health minister, Firas Abyad, confirmed that “it is necessary for citizens to complete taking doses of the corona vaccine, and the centers are spread in various regions.”
In a press conference on the latest health developments, he pointed out that “we will discuss the health situation with the Corona Committee, and the trend is not to close the country once more.”
And he considered, “The responsibility lies with each individual, and as long as the situation in hospitals is under control, we will not resort to the option of closure, but the trend is towards more strictness in preventive measures.”
And he continued, “We are dealing with a severe and rapidly transmitting mutant, and whoever is infected or suspects that he is infected with the Corona virus must self-isolate.”
As for “monkeypox”, he stressed that “the examination has become available in Lebanon, and we have prepared special units in hospitals that are different from the Corona units for patients.”
He pointed out, “The cases of viral hepatitis have receded, but we are afraid of a repetition of what happened, and the cause of the infections is pollution, and we have intensified examinations and are strict in the issue of water safety.”
