The ‘Rigo’ novel has captivated thousands of Colombians who wait every night to see what happens with the cyclist’s story. This has made several viewers begin to investigate the lives of the people who inspired the characters.
One of the characters that has drawn the most attention is that of the cyclist’s mother-in-law, Nidia López, who in the novel is called Silvia López de Durango, Michelle’s mother and the wife of Pedro, the owner of Helados Tonny.
Yesenia Valencia is the actress who plays Rigo’s mother-in-law and from what has been seen in the novel, she initially had a hard time accepting ‘Rigo’, but as time went by she began to appreciate all his qualities.
There are not many photos of Nidia on social networks, as there is only one photograph that her daughter Michelle published and some videos that Rigo has published of her reactions to the novel.

For example, a few days ago, the cyclist ‘ticketed’ his mother-in-law for a scene of infidelity that was presented in the soap opera and coincidentally Mrs. Silvia López from Durango was the protagonist of this moment.

Likewise, the actress confessed that she was not able to talk to her to create her character, but she did have the opportunity to meet people close to her and they assured her that she never thought that Michelle was going to fall in love with the cyclist.

It is worth mentioning that Rigo met Nidia López’s daughter in the municipality of Urrao in 2009. Michelle’s father was a renowned businessman in the region and the owner of an ice cream company, which sponsored ‘Rigo’. at the beginning of his career.
After that great meeting, the love between them emerged little by little and two years later they formalized their relationship. “More than an athlete, he is an incredible human being and since I met him he has always had overwhelming energy,” said Michelle Durango in an interview with RCN.
After a few years, they had their daughter Carlota, who became the pillar of their lives. Both Michelle and Rigo support each other in their careers and have become one of the most stable couples in Colombia.
