Emirates News Agency – “Al Owais Cultural Award” closes nominations for the 18th session

DUBAI, 2nd January / WAM / The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation announced that the door for nominations for the eighteenth session awards “2022-2023” has closed at the end of last December.

1761 candidates applied for the award in all its branches, as 226 candidates applied for the poetry award, 490 candidates applied for the story, novel and play, 290 candidates for literary studies and criticism, 485 candidates for human and future studies, while 270 candidates applied for cultural and scientific achievement.

The Foundation had sent more than six thousand invitations for nomination, in addition to more than six thousand leaflets of information about the Foundation and the Award to most universities, academies, cultural institutions, associations, families, literary unions, publishing houses and other intellectual and cultural institutions to apply for the eighteenth session. “2022-2023”.

101 Arab writers, writers and thinkers won the award during previous sessions, in addition to 5 prestigious cultural institutions that contributed to the dissemination of culture and knowledge. More than 251 arbitrators and consultants from various cultural persuasions judged in their fields, and the award’s arbitration committees will start their work soon.

It is noteworthy that the award has begun to move heavily towards the digital world in receiving nominations and follow-up with the applicants for the award, as well as communicating with the arbitrators in a step aimed at it; The speed and accuracy of the workflow in the award, and during the Corona pandemic, it developed its mechanism of work in receiving nominations, which gave those wishing to apply for the award more flexibility to obtain accurate information and follow the correct methods to apply for the award.
