Erdogan’s revenge: Turkey announced a restriction on the export of products to Israel

Is the crisis worsening? The Turkish Ministry of Trade announced a restriction on the export of some products to Israel starting today, this was announced this morning (Tuesday) in the country’s news agency. It also states that the restrictions will remain in effect until an immediate cease-fire in Gaza that will allow continuous aid to be provided.

Yesterday, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs threatened to take measures, as Israel refuses to allow the country to drop shipments of humanitarian supplies in the Gaza Strip.

The announcement by the Turkish Ministry of Commerce includes 54 types of products on which the new restrictions are imposed, including iron, cement, blocks, aluminum products, optical fibers, forklifts, chemical fertilizers, plastic pipes, jet fuel and cranes.

Following Turkey’s unilateral step to stop the export of products to Israel, Foreign Minister Israel Katz announced: “Erdogan is once again sacrificing the economic interests of the people of Turkey for his support of Hamas – we will respond accordingly and prepare an extended list of additional products that Israel will prevent Turkey from exporting.”

Katz ordered the preparation of an extensive list of products that Israel will prevent Turkey from exporting to Israel. According to Katz, “Erdogan is once again sacrificing the economic interests of the people of Turkey for his support of the Hamas murderers in Gaza. Israel will not submit to violence and blackmail, will not condone the unilateral violation of agreements trade and take parallel measures against Turkey that will harm the Turkish economy. In addition, I ordered to contact countries and organizations in the US, stop investments in Turkey and prevent the import of products from Turkey. Also, I called on our friends in the American Congress to examine the violation of the boycott laws and impose sanctions on Turkey accordingly.”
