“For me, well-being is a positive drug”

Twenty-two years in Spain go a long way, and if not, tell the yoga expert Xuan Lan, who remembers coming to our country and seeing Yoga almost nowhere: «I started yoga in the US and wanted to continue learning, but when I arrived on the peninsula I spent almost two years without practicing it because I couldn’t find schools ».

Fortunately, the Yoga in Spain has been growing exponentially and Xuan Lan has had a lot to do with this increase in ‘yogis’… “It has been growing because people are increasingly concerned about their stress, their bodies and self-care in general,” he says, and He alludes to the Covid pandemic, which, although it was very hard, has also improved some things: «The pandemic has helped us a lot to realize that one can care from home in an easy and accessible way.

With my means, through social networks, I was doing many free online classes and I made Yoga reach even more people. It must be remembered that the expert has a very powerful YouTube channel and there are many centers that have been opened as a result of her success. Now it is normal to join a Yoga center and take care of yourself », she says.

Not a passing trend

How many times has an activity gone viral and, over the months, has its fame faded? That has not happened with Yoga… «When they ask me if Yoga is a fad, for me it is not. In fifteen years it has been growing non-stop, the pandemic gave it a boom but it has not gone down again. Everyone has made bread during the confinement and now hardly anyone makes bread at home, but instead people continue to do yoga », he indicates with a laugh. According to Xuan Lan, those who have discovered that they can do yoga online “without having to cross the city to go to its center, is a way to say: ‘I have no excuse to take care of myself. I always try to help anyone, with little or a lot of time, find their perfect class”.
