BERLIN – A photo of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz wearing an eye patch following he fell while jogging was released on Monday.

The chancellor shared the photo of the bandaged eye two days following he was on rest following falling and spraining his eye while jogging this past weekend. The fall caused a bruise under the right eye. The picture posted on social media received thousands of likes and comments. Many wished the Chancellor a speedy recovery.

Only Sunday’s Shoals event had to be canceled due to the fall. But the rest of the week’s events were not affected. Attended the Catholic Church program on Monday. He will also visit the IAA Auto Show in Munich on Tuesday.

He will leave for New Delhi on Friday for the G20 summit. The 65-year-old Scholz, who leads the SPD, is German chancellor from December 2021.
