He was already the most popular politician: Now Habeck is Chancellor | politics

Chancellor Olaf Scholz (64, SPD) is enjoying his vacation – that’s why Federal Minister of Economics and Vice-Chancellor Robert Habeck (52, Greens) is allowed to be Chancellor for the first time today!

In this role, he will chair the cabinet meeting today.

► The Federal Cabinet, chaired by the Federal Chancellor, meets once a week – usually on Wednesdays. In the cabinet room of the Chancellery, members of the government discuss current issues, make decisions and initiate legislative projects.

In addition to the federal ministers, the state ministers and the government spokesman also take part in the meetings.

Habeck is the most popular politician in Germany

However, Habeck is not only Chancellor today. In an INSA survey for BILD, he had previously been voted Germany’s most popular politician.

The weekly winner in the politician ranking is Markus Söder (55, CSU). He improves by three points and climbs from 6th place to 3rd place. There are just ahead of him Robert Habeck and Annalena Baerbock (41, Greens).

Chancellor Olaf Scholz maintains its score but falls from 4th to 6th.

For the current INSA opinion trend on behalf of BILD, a total of 2043 citizens were representatively surveyed from July 22nd to 25th, 2022. The maximum statistical error tolerance is +/- 2.5 percentage points.
