Heat record broken in Latvia on April 2

The highest air temperature in the country by 16:00 on Tuesday in Daugavpils was +22.3 degrees, which is a new national heat record for April 2, according to data from the Latvian Center for Environment, Geology and Meteorology.

The previous highest air temperature recorded in the country on the second day of April was +20.4 degrees in 2017 in Daugavpils.

The maximum temperature record on April 2 was broken at 12 observation stations, including in the capital, where the thermometer rose to +18.9 degrees.

At 16:00 the air temperature ranged from +4.6 degrees in Kolka and +5.5 degrees in Pavilosta to +21.9 degrees in Daugavpils.
