I do not expect to reach a radical solution, and the solution is not economic growth, but its sustainability

Financial researcher Jihad Al-Hakim confirmed that “since Lebanon failed to pay the Eurobond dues, there is no longer a ceiling for the exchange rate of the dollar against the lira.”

In an interview with “Voice of All Lebanon” “93.3”, he said that “exiting the lira from circulation is a long-term matter, but its role may diminish, and there is difficulty in implementing “dollarization”, so where will we get the dollar?”

He stressed that “if there is no good governance and an end to waste and corruption, nothing can be resolved, even if we are able to extract oil and gas resources.”

He continued, “I do not expect to reach a radical solution, and we had opportunities, but we did not take advantage of them, and the solution is not to obtain economic growth, but rather to sustain it.”
