It’s a remarkable opening for the Gabriëls petrol pump in Herk-de-Stad. The new service station has indeed boasted a price defying all competition on fuel: 1.521 euros per liter of gasoline, 1.688 euros per liter of diesel. A bargain that motorists in Limburg did not miss.
The incredible discount caused, as the Belang van Limburg reports, several traffic jams. Some people, however, have taken advantage of periods of calm to make big savings. This is the case of Lucien, who came three times on Saturday: once with his truck, two other times with his personal vehicles. “In total, I still filled up about 250 litres. I only took diesel but multiplied by 250, it still saves 50 euros, ”he confides to our colleagues.
