Josiane Warland was replaced by Loïc Marquet during the last municipal council of the city of Malmedy after 35 years of service of the citizens of her municipality.
She was a CPAS councilor from 1988 to 2000, municipal and CPAS councilor from 2000 to 2006, municipal councilor from 2006 to 2008, alderman for education and social affairs from August 2008 to December 2012.
“During her term as alderman, she notably set up the Free Time Reception services, the Social Cohesion Plan and the introduction of the Balingua method for teaching the German language in municipal schools”, details Jean-Marie Blaise, the group leader of the Communal Entente.
She was also president of the CPAS and alderman for seniors from 2012 to 2018. “Her alderman was marked by the creation of Ciné Senior and Rin d’Noû. During her presidency of the CPAS, she had to manage the expansion of the Grand Fa with the stoppage of work and various business defects. Its priorities have always been the well-being of the residents as well as listening to the families and all the staff of the CPAS”, continues Jean-Marie Blaise.
