King Charles has evicted Harry and Meghan from their only remaining home in the UK, Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor, and offered it to Prince Andrew, Duke of York.
Observers linked the issuance of Buckingham Palace’s eviction notice to the couple from the home and the personal memoirs that Prince Harry put out entitled “Spire” just two days before the notice was issued, according to the British “LBC” website.
In his memoirs, Harry revealed details of the royal family’s feuds and his drug use experiences. Harry and his wife are now arranging for the rest of their belongings to be shipped to the US after the house was offered to Prince Andrew.
This comes after news was received that Andrew had also left his royal palace, the Royal Lodge, which consists of 30 rooms and occupies an area of 98 hectares, although he had moved to it in 2003 with a 75-year lease. But reports say the palace is in need of costly repairs as King Charles plans to cut Andrew’s annual bequest of £249,000.
Andrew is reportedly opposed to moving into the new home, but Harry and Meghan will be forced to leave the house, which is their last remaining home in the UK, regardless of Andrew’s move.
According to a person familiar with the affairs of the royal palace, in a statement to The Sun newspaper, “This procedure, certainly, indicates the end of Harry and Megan’s presence in the United Kingdom,” noting that “Andrew refuses the idea of moving to Frogmore Cottage after he was offered it.” last week”. “However, this shows that Harry and Meghan have become powerless to stop the eviction decision,” the source added.
It is worth noting that the couple received the house as a gift from the late Queen after their wedding in 2018, but they demanded renovations in it amounting to 2.4 million pounds sterling, and then they decided to leave the country in April of the following year.
And when the couple gave up their royal life in 2020 and moved to the United States, Harry and Megan paid the taxpayers the cost of the renovations and also paid the house rent for “many years.” They renewed the lease in May 2022 after Princess Eugenie and her husband moved out. It is not known yet whether Harry and Megan intend to oppose the “eviction” decision.
