Pictures of the Tesla Cybertruck start to leak on the web. The manufacturer has still not presented the final version of its product, but Internet users are taking advantage of the vehicle’s road test phase to capture new images. This is the case of a user of the Reddit platform who saw a copy of the Cybertruck. He took a series of photos that reveal a few elements of the vehicle’s interior configuration, including its mood lighting system.
Mood lighting and 360 degree cameras
The 3 shots show some aspects of the van. We can see, on the last photo, that the interior of the Cybertruck will be bright thanks to a strip of lighting extending from the dashboard of the vehicle to the rear door. This line goes around the cabin and looks a lot like the first images of the next Tesla Model, also equipped with a similar luminous ribbon.
The Tesla Cybertruck will be equipped with an ambient lighting system.
It is not possible to know if the red color of the lighting can be changed, but we bet that several choices will be offered. Speaking of ambient lighting, a study conducted by Chalmers University of Technology found that this item is among the most valued conveniences for motorists in 2023. Also according to the analysis, builders should emphasize the mood lighting, as motorists expect this feature to be an integral part of their car today.
Tesla seems to have understood this well, because the Cybertruck would indeed be equipped with this technology. Moreover, on the image revealing the light strip, it is possible to see that the vehicle is equipped with 360-degree cameras. Positioned right in the heart of the dashboard, the central screen shows different camera angles around the vehicle, another highly popular technology.
A Yoke steering wheel
The famous photo also reveals that the vehicle is equipped with the company’s “Yoke” steering wheel. However, this is no longer open as it was previously in the Tesla Model S Plaid. The Cybertruck will be entitled to the new closed Yoke steering wheel, the last alteration of the product. It is not possible to observe the autonomy or more technical details on the photos.
Earlier this week, Elon Musk presented the vehicle which was photographed by the enthusiast. This version is the “production candidate” unit, according to the CEO. This vehicle is therefore not the final version of the product, but according to Mr. Musk, the Cybertruck will nevertheless be the “best product ever created by the company”. Separately, the boss put pressure on employees working on the production of the vehicle and demanded special attention to the fit and finish of the Cybertruck in an email sent earlier this week.
The final technical specifications of the Tesla Cybertruck should be available by the end of 2023. Note that many motorists have been waiting since the unveiling of the product in 2019. Tesla expects to produce the vehicle more massively in the beginning of the year 2024, i.e. 5 years after the unveiling.
