Marches surprise Russia and approach Moscow

Kiev confirms the “tension of the situation” around Bakhmut… and excludes Beijing’s involvement in sending weapons

Yesterday, Tuesday, Russia was surprised by the attack of drones, one of which approached the outskirts of Moscow, in an unprecedented incident since the outbreak of hostilities a year ago. This coincided with a meeting of the leadership of the Federal Security Service (Ministry) chaired by President Vladimir Putin, who said that his country would respond by all means to any threat to its national security.

And the security authorities announced that three drones were shot down in the streets of the city of Belgorod, and a “flying object” that fell in the Adygea region was confronted. But the most striking incident was the announcement that a march had been shot down in the town of Kolomna, on the outskirts of the capital, Moscow. And the local authorities announced that a major fire broke out at an oil refinery in the port of Tuapse, in southern Russia, during the night.

It was decided to partially stop flights at St. Petersburg airport for several hours. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that “the president (Putin) has been notified of all the information related to the closure of the airspace over St. Petersburg.”

In a related context, the Ukrainian army confirmed that the situation is “very tense” around Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. “The situation in the vicinity of Bakhmut is very tense,” the commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Alexander Sersky, was quoted as saying. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged that the situation around Bakhmut was “increasingly complicated” for Ukrainian soldiers.

In turn, a Ukrainian official ruled out Beijing’s involvement in sending weapons to Russia, after previous statements by officials who said that China intends to provide the Russian army with weapons for use in Ukraine.

And the head of Ukrainian intelligence, Kirillo Budanov, commented in an interview broadcast by “Voice of America” radio, Monday, on this, saying, “I do not see this opinion.”
