Morocco’s SN Berkane won the CAF Cup for the second time in three years, with a 5-4 penalty shootout victory over South Africa’s Orlando Pirates on Friday.
The final, which was held in Nigeria, was extended into extra time after a goalless draw.
Nahdet Berkane won a penalty kick, successfully executed by Youssef Al-Fahli at the beginning of the first extra period, but Orlando equalized before the end of the second extra period through Timbinkosi Lorsch.
Nahdet Berkane won the penalty shoot-out to keep Morocco in the title for the third time in a row, after the same team excelled in 2020 and Raja Casablanca’s victory last year.
