[ワシントン ２９日 ロイター] – The White House said on the 29th that it was “appropriate” for intelligence agencies to assess the potential national security risks of classified documents taken by former President Donald Trump after his term ended.
The White House said it was not involved in the investigation into the documents.
In a letter dated 26th to lawmakers, Director of National Intelligence Haynes said that the National Security Agency will release documents seized during the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago, the Trump residence, on Thursday. He stated that the Secretary’s Office would take the lead in assessing the above risks.
The two sides will work closely together to ensure that the Secretariat’s office’s confidentiality assessment work does not unduly interfere with ongoing criminal investigations by the Justice Department.
Kirby, strategic communications coordinator for the National Security Council (NSC), told reporters it was the “appropriate action for the secretary and the intelligence community to take.”
The FBI raid seized documents, including 11 classified documents.
