This positive trend is mainly due to an increase in sales in the wholesale trade of food, beverages and tobacco, as well as in the wholesale trade of other industrial equipment and other specialized wholesale trade.
Regarding expectations for the second quarter of 2023, stability is expected in the overall volume of sales for 70% of wholesalers in the wholesale sector, with an increase expected by 20% of them. This positive development is mainly attributable to the expected increase in sales in the wholesale trade of food, beverages and tobacco products, as well as in the wholesale trade of information and communication equipment. In addition, orders expected for the second quarter of 2023 would be at a normal level, according to 81% of business leaders surveyed.
These results highlight a certain stability in the non-financial market services and wholesale trade sectors in Morocco. Despite the current economic challenges, the outlook remains positive overall, with growth forecasts and stable demand in many areas.
