Semen Padang FC suffered a dramatic 2-1 defeat away to Persikad Depok in the Pegadaian Championship 2026/2027 at Stadion Pakansari, Bogor, on Sunday evening, October 11, 2026. Despite taking a first-half lead through Alwi Slamat, Kabau Sirah conceded two goals after the break, culminating in a 94th-minute winner by Jhon Edy Mena that left the visitors empty-handed.
Tactical Breakdown and Late-Game Collapse
The fixture at Stadion Pakansari opened with high intensity, as both sides pressed in open tactical formations. Persikad Depok threatened early on the 25th minute when forward Jhon Edy carved through the visiting defensive block, only to be denied by Semen Padang goalkeeper Ikram Alqiffari.
Semen Padang broke the deadlock in the 38th minute. Midfielder Alwi Slamat struck from outside the penalty box, his shot deflecting off a Persikad defender to wrong-foot the home goalkeeper and secure a 1-0 halftime advantage.
The second half saw Persikad increase their pressure. Fikri Ardiansyah leveled the score in the 64th minute, piercing through the Kabau Sirah defensive structure. As the match stretched into stoppage time, defensive lapses cost the visitors dearly. In the 94th minute, Jhon Edy Mena capitalized on a final transitional sequence to seal a 2-1 victory for the hosts.
Management Shift and the Arrival of Teco
The defeat compounds a turbulent period for Semen Padang, who recently restructured their technical staff by appointing Stefano Cugurra—widely known as Teco—as head coach, replacing Nil Maizar. Club CEO Muhammad Ammar Tsaqif Rosiade noted that the managerial change was designed to leverage the coach’s domestic experience and familiarity with several squad members.
Reflecting on his early days at the club, Teco emphasized a measured approach to squad rebuilding. Kita baru datang, cuma beberapa hari di latihan di sini. Fokus saya lebih ke taktikal dari tim,
Teco stated, highlighting the integration of new foreign signing Savio in the midfield to raise overall technical standards.

Meanwhile, Semen Padang holds six points—including prior wins against Persiraja Banda Aceh and PSGC Ciamis, a draw with PSIS Semarang, and a defeat to PSPS Pekanbaru—compounded by an administrative one-point deduction.
Teco maintains that tactical maturation will require patience as the squad adapts to his methodology ahead of upcoming league fixtures.
