Al-Marsad Newspaper: Eggshells contain important mineral elements that make them useful in preventing osteoporosis.

Dr. Mariat Mukhina, a Russian nutrition expert, said that eggshells contain phosphorus, calcium, potassium, iron and magnesium in an organic state, which facilitates their absorption.

Mukhina explained that eggshells are beneficial for the musculoskeletal system and bones, stressing: calcium must be added to the diet constantly in order to maintain bone strength and prevent fractures.

She recommended that the eggshells be washed well, dried and heated in the oven, and then ground before use. Lemon juice can also be added to the eggshells and eaten one spoon a day.
