Jacobo Ramón will return to Real Madrid as the club’s first signing for the 2027–28 season after club officials decided to trigger a buy-back clause in his contract with Italian side Como. The central defender, who left the Santiago Bernabéu in 2025, is slated to rejoin Los Blancos to reinforce the defensive line under José Mourinho.
Real Madrid officials initially believed the acquisition of Ibrahima Konaté would sufficiently shore up the backline. However, plans changed as the club turned its attention back to its former La Fábrica academy product, according to reports from Spanish newspaper Sport and transfer market expert Matteo Moretto.

Como secured Ramón for a fee of just 2.5 million euros in July 2025. Since his move to Italy, the 21-year-old has made 49 appearances and scored five goals under the management of Cesc Fàbregas. His impressive run in Serie A has seen his market value climb to 45 million euros, according to current figures published by Transfermarkt.
Reports from the Madrid-centric outlet Madridista Hoy indicate that Los Blancos will activate a buy-back option for 10 million euros. TEAMtalk transfer insider Graeme Bailey reported that the deal also includes a 50 percent sell-on clause, giving Madrid substantial financial and sporting flexibility once the summer transfer window opens.

| Metric / Detail | Recorded Figure |

| Como Purchase Price (July 2025) | €2.5 million |
| Current Market Value (Transfermarkt) | €45 million |

Ramón’s return to the Spanish capital is designed to address an impending vacancy in the squad. According to Madridista Hoy, the young central defender is intended to step into the squad as a replacement for Antonio Rüdiger, who is expected to retire at the end of the season.
Despite the advanced planning within the club’s administrative offices, Ramón himself has remained measured about his long-term prospects. When asked about a potential return to Estadio Bernabéu on September 23, he told Mundo Deportivo: “I’m focused on the present. I’m very happy at Como and I’m only thinking about doing my best this season, winning a lot of games and getting as far as possible.”
When pressed on the difficulty of breaking into Real Madrid’s senior squad compared to other European giants, Ramón noted the club’s recent track record of giving opportunities to youth graduates. “At Real Madrid, you have the best players in the world; playing time isn’t handed out, but last year saw the most debuts,” he said.
Whether Real Madrid ultimately integrates the defender directly into the first-team fold or capitalizes on his rise in market value remains to be decided. For now, the administrative groundwork for the summer of 2027 has been laid.
