As part of the operational-preventive operation “Illegal 2023,” in the period from June 19 to 25 and from October 2 to October 8, about 15,000 decisions were made on the administrative expulsion or deportation of foreign citizens from Russia. About it reported official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.

According to Volk, about 3,600 criminal cases were opened on the organization of illegal migration, drug trafficking and psychotropic substances, illegal weapons trafficking and illegal crossing of the state border. 447 people were identified who were on the federal and international wanted list.

In addition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs identified about 96,000 violations of migration legislation, in particular, more than 73,000 violations of the rules of entry, exit, transit and stay in Russia and more than 22,000 violations of foreigners carrying out labor activities.

On November 7, the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Migration Issues, Valentina Kazakova, said that the Ministry of Internal Affairs had developed a bill prohibiting illegal migrants from opening bank accounts, registering cars, getting married and making property transactions. According to Kazakova, this measure will “close the channel” for transferring money abroad.
