If the inhabitants of Haut-Vernet, the hamlet where the child disappeared, are walled in silence, one of them has decided to confide in BFM DICI (regional channel of BFMTV).

A renowned resident Marc spoke out. He is one of two witnesses to have seen the child before his disappearance. “Yes, that day I saw the little one going down to the washhouse. I was doing work at my house and at that time, I was outside in front of my stairs,” he explains.

He also specifies that “the grandfather was cutting wood about ten meters from the child”. The incident would have occurred “a little before 4:45 p.m.” according to him.

He adds: “Afterwards, I continued my work inside. And when I poked my head out of the window a few minutes later, I saw the frantic family looking for the little one and who quickly called the police.” They would have arrived 30 to 40 minutes after the scene.

Missing since July 8, Emile is described as a “resourceful” child. For the mayor of the commune of Vernet, François Balique, Émile is a “good walker”. According to the gendarmes, the boy with the dandelion behind his ear had the habit of “following the butterflies” and wandering around the fifteen houses in the hamlet.

The morning the child disappeared, Dédé, a resident of the small village of Haut-Vernet, said he saw him walking in the area. And nothing suggested the drama that was to follow… “It was a few hours before he disappeared,” says Dédé. “It was a little child in a diaper who was frolicking, like many of us have seen before. Besides, he wasn’t alone that day, he was with his aunts and uncles. It’s a big family, and good people. They are very religious and practicing, with an exemplary education…”

A large family that lives almost self-sufficiently

Other inhabitants of the village confirm this description of Emile’s family. “They are very religious, very discreet. They lived a little self-sufficiently,” says a neighbor. “We don’t really have any exchanges with them,” continues another local resident. “We only know them by sight, they are very discreet…”

Although they do not live in Haut-Vernet, the members of this family are regulars in the area. Indeed, the small family had made it a habit to spend their vacations in this village, as another resident of the hamlet recounts. “They have been coming here on vacation for more than twenty years and traveling by minibus. Every year they organize a religiously inspired classical music concert at the village church. But, in reality, we don’t know them well, the grandparents have eleven children and mostly keep to themselves. »

A description of the toddler’s maternal family which nevertheless contrasts with the profile of Colomban, the child’s father…

Who is Colomban S., the father of little Emile?

Originally from Yvelines, Colomban S. has a rather dark past. The 26-year-old father is a former member of Action Française. An engineer by training, he was also a very active activist within the small group Bastion social Marseille, a far-right association which received a letter of dissolution in 2019.

But, before the disappearance of the small group, Colomban was called to appear before the Aix-en-Provence criminal court, in 2018, for an alleged attack on people of foreign origin. However, he was acquitted in this case. He then got involved in politics, since he was, during the 2021 regional elections, on an electoral list in support of Eric Zemmour, called “Zou the list that rids you of the system. »

On the TPMP set, a resident of Haut-Vernet, the village where the child disappeared, spoke this Wednesday. “Many people were questioned, several times in fact. Some people were eliminated because they had nothing to do with this affair,” explains Gilles. He adds: “For me, it’s not someone from the outside. We cannot access Vernet without being noticed.”

If the thesis of kidnapping should therefore be ruled out according to him, “the solution is in the village”, he confides on the Cyril Hanouna set. “The little one didn’t fly away.” He also speaks about the recent excavations, which led investigators to destroy a concrete slab: “This house has just been sold. Before living there, the new owners wanted to do work for an extension.
