Hakosuka GT-R, Fairlady 240Z, Kenmeri, RS, Bellett GTR, Cosmo Sports, etc.! This garage contains a dreamlike old domestic car collection. The owner is Mr. H (39 years old), a businessman living in Bangkok, Thailand. Mr. H, who is involved in hotel management in a Thai resort, lives with his wife and two children at his home. Thailand’s “Little Dream interior design” designed a modern garage that suits Japanese cars.

Domestic old cars, collection before soaring!
Mr. H was interested in Japanese cars in the manga “Initial D” that he read when he was a student. He was 22 years old and he bought the AE86 that was driven by the manga hero Takumi Fujiwara, and a year later he bought the Kenmeri Skyline. He woke up to the Japanese car collection when the car won third place in the classic car contest held in Bangkok. There is a classic car club called “Japan Retro Car” in Thailand, which is so popular that more than 400 owners gather when an event is held. However, in Thailand, import restrictions on Japanese cars have come to be imposed, and it is said that vintage cars are currently being traded at rare and high prices. Therefore, the number of owners who restore and collect old Japanese cars imported in the past is increasing. Mr. H also hired a restorer and a mechanic individually and purchased an old car. He is doing restoration work at the factory next to the garage. He said he would get the parts every year at New Year’s meetings in Japan and at Japanese auctions.

The large two-story wooden garage is adjacent to the living room, and the material is made of wood. The space is divided according to the genre of the car, and the room where Mazda Cosmo fits is like a showroom. It features a garage shutter of a skeleton and a design with a rounded interior. For example, Nissan’s space ceiling member is made by immersing 4 mm thick wood in water and bending it. The space of the Bellett GTR, which is the only one in Thailand, is surrounded by wheels, which is also made like a shop showroom. In addition, cars that ran outside are basically washed before entering the garage, so a clean space with no tire marks is maintained inside the garage. Mr. H’s garage is coordinated with old domestic cars that are rare and expensive in the world and Japanese retro signboards that look good on them. In addition to the garage, there is a space outside the kitchen where families can gather.

I couldn’t take measures against exhaust gas, so when I started the engine and came in by car, the smell of exhaust gas remained.
