Apple has just announced these new AirPods Pro 2 equipped with a USB-C port instead of the Lightning port. Despite their very recent release, these excellent wireless headphones have already benefited from a price reduction: instead of 279 euros, Rakuten is now offering them at 239 euros.

The officialization was made during the Apple keynote on September 12. That day, the Cupertino company not only announced the arrival of the highly anticipated iPhone 15, but also that of the AirPods Pro 2 equipped with a USB-C port. So no more Lightning port. Apple has thus complied with the requirement of the European Union, which will impose from 2024 the presence of a USB-C port on all smartphones, tablets, headphones and other tech products sold on the European market. Despite this change in charging port, the AirPods Pro 2 USB-C version fortunately remain identical to those launched in 2022. Their launch price is even lower than their predecessors, and a 40 euro promotion is currently lowering their prices further.

Noise reduction as pleasant as ever

We are also entitled to a good restitution of Dolby Atmos thanks to Spatial Audio, which concretely offers excellent spatialization of the sound. With this mode, the soundstage suddenly expands in width, height and depth, what’s more, with extra punch.
Finally, regarding their autonomy, the AirPods Pro 2 offer a usage time of just over 5 hours with ANC and Spatial Audio activated, and up to 6 hours with stereo music. The case provides up to 30 hours of battery life. A box which accommodates, as mentioned above, a USB-C port, which (finally) replaces the unscrewable Lightning port. You can also recharge the case from the iPhone battery by connecting them via a USB-C to USB-C cable.
