The Egyptian security services managed to uncover the circumstances of the finding of the body of Rawan Al-Husseini, the world speedball champion, lying on the roof of a property on Tuesday in the city of Desouk.
And the authorities arrested the killer of the sports hero, as it turned out that he was a person registered on the list of dangerous people, residing in the city of Desouk, and he had tracked the young woman in order to steal her golden earring and mobile phone, and when she resisted he strangled her and killed her.
The accused confessed to killing the speedball champion, as he said that he tracked her while she was leaving the Desouq Sports Club and took advantage of the darkness at the entrance to the “Al-Zaeem” building on “Al-Jaish Street”, the place of residence of her aunt who was going to visit her, and strangled her several times until she breathed.
He added that he carried her body to the top of the roof of the property and then seized her golden earring and mobile phone.
It turned out that the accused, called “EMM”, was registered as “dangerous”, and had been accused in 17 previous cases of drug trafficking, theft and bullying.
The people had found the body of a girl lying on the roof of a property in the Army Street in the city of Disouq, and upon examination it was found that she is Rawan Al-Husseini, who is 22 years old, a student at the College of Pharmacy and the former world champion in speedball.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the girl was visiting her aunt’s house before she was killed, while her mother said that she received a call from her daughter’s phone and an unknown person spoke to her and told her that her daughter’s body was on the roof of a property.
The victim, whose full name is Rawan Muhammad Al-Husseini, is a third-year student at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Kafr El-Sheikh University, and a speedball player. With the Desouq Sports Club team, she won first place in the world in 2016 in the tournament held in Poland. The former Minister of Youth and Sports and the former Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh honored her at the time, and thanks to her, Desouq Sports Club was included on the map of sports clubs, as the city became famous for this game and permanently won many championships.
