There are two people from Rosario among those injured by the overturning of the bus in Punta Cana

Two tourists from Rosario are hospitalized in a reserved, but “stable” condition, in the tragic overturn of a bus in Punta Cana, which until now has claimed the lives of three people, two of them Argentine tourists. The rest, also a woman, is Peruvian.

The two injured Rosarios are hospitalized in a reserved, but “stable” state, according to what Andrea Nava, a journalist from BávaroDigital.net, confided this Friday night.

According to what the colleague mentioned, Alejandro K. and Natalia K., are the two internees from Rosario of the seven Argentine citizens who remain hospitalized in Punta Cana, two of them in a delicate state, according to the media of that Caribbean city.

“Alejandro and Natalia are stable. They did not give us any medical report on their condition, but the communication director confirmed that they are stable,” Andrea assured in dialogue with Telefe Rosario.

The colleague also clarified that both are in different medical centers, without specifying where each one was: they are in the Hospiten Clinic and the Punta Cana Medical Center.

There are already three fatalities

The overturning of the tourist bus in the Dominican city of Punta Cana added this Friday the second victim of Argentine nationality, a 44-year-old woman who was traveling with 49 other people, while seven other Argentine citizens remain hospitalized, two of them in delicate state, according to sources of the investigation.

On Thursday, the death of Valeria Victoria Brovelli, 33, and from the Buenos Aires party of Vicente López, who was there on vacation with her husband, who was also injured during the incident and remains hospitalized in a local hospital, had been reported.

However, in the last few hours, a second fatal victim of Argentine nationality was added, identified as Valeria Paola Medina, 44, who died at 7 this Friday after a surgical intervention.

The accident left a balance of three deceased, the two Argentines and a Peruvian woman identified as Karla Rodríguez Dionisio, 41 years old.

Meanwhile, seven people of Argentine nationality remained hospitalized this Friday, three of them in intensive care units, of which two were in a “delicate state” and one “stable”, according to sources from the Foreign Ministry.

On the other hand, it was indicated that three other Argentine tourists who were traveling in the damaged bus were discharged this Friday morning.

The incident occurred at the Domingo Maíz-Miches intersection, on the Eastern Tourist Boulevard of the Punta Cana-Miches highway, an area widely visited by tourists, where the bus belonging to the Suero Servi-Bus transport company overturned.

Preliminary information indicates that the accident occurred when the bus suffered a slide on the Coral Highway, at the Domingo Maíz intersection, in Verón, La Altagracia province, they assured.

In addition, they stated that those affected were transferred to nearby clinics, such as Hospiten, Punta Cana Medical Center and IMG Hospital, to provide medical attention, carry out the corresponding studies and diagnoses.

As it was learned, the injured bus was heading to the town of Bayahíbe, so that tourists could travel from there by ferry to Saona Island.

For his part, the Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, David Collado, expressed through his Twitter account that his country feels “sad and dismayed by the unfortunate accident of the bus occupied by foreigners.”

“The patients are stable and without risk to life,” reported Rosario Vieytes, a doctor at the Punta Cana Medical Center, when asked this Friday afternoon by Télam.

In this sense, Vieytes remarked that “most of the patients present a picture of polytraumatisms and are being examined by specialists”.

In relation to the situation, the doctor pointed out that “there will be no other patients discharged in the next few hours.”
