At 03:19 this Thursday, a medium-intensity earthquake was recorded in the Coquimbo region. However, it was perceived in the Valparaíso and Metropolitan regions.
According to information from the National Seismological Center, the movement had a magnitude of 5.8and the epicenter was located 9.86 kilometers west of the commune of Ovalle.
Likewise, the depth of the tremor was estimated at 54.3 kilometers by the agency.

For its part, Senapred reported that SHOA indicated that the characteristics of the earthquake do NOT meet the necessary conditions to generate a tsunami off the coast of Chile.
