Exclusive translation: Danish health expert, Caroline Groth, wowed her thousands of online followers after sharing a video showing how hard avocados ripen in just 24 hours.
The health expert went viral on Instagram quickly, after she posted a clip online showing how she puts a hard avocado in a paper bag with a kiwi fruit to soften it.
Caroline stored the avocado in a paper bag along with the kiwi fruit where it appeared to “release ethylene gas” – a key plant hormone released to induce ripening quickly, according to the Daily Mail.
“The paper bag traps the gas, so the process runs faster which means you’ll have a ripe avocado within 24 hours,” Caroline said.
It is worth noting that the avocado, which is famous for being more difficult to ripen, but after Caroline’s method, it ripened quickly, and the stem was easily removed from the inside of the fruit, as the video showed.
