Repsol and Telefónica join forces to promote photovoltaic self-consumption

Madrid, March 10 (EFE).- Repsol and Telefónica Spain have reported today that they have created a joint venture for the development of the photovoltaic self-consumption business.

As explained in a joint note, the company, divided 50% between the two companies, will have its first offers ready “in a few months”, once they obtain the relevant regulatory authorizations.

The objective is to offer a comprehensive self-consumption solution to private customers, neighborhood communities and companies, both SMEs and large companies, through the installation of solar panels.

The agreement -they detail- opens the door for both companies to explore additional opportunities to jointly promote other energy services in homes and businesses.

The new company will have its own management team, which will combine the knowledge and experience of both companies, and will have specialists who will cover all customer needs.

What is sought is to clarify the possibilities offered by self-consumption, advise on the installation design that best meets their needs, or answer any questions regarding its operation once it is generating energy or following-sales services.

To maximize savings on the current electricity bill, the client will have a mobile application to control the installation and the continuous optimization of energy expenditure.

Personalized financing will also be offered for each type of consumer and other value-added services linked to the photovoltaic installation, Telefónica Spain and Repsol indicate in the statement.

For the president of Telefónica Spain, Emilio Gayo, this is a strategic agreement between two leading companies to build a “solid and innovative” value proposition for individuals and companies, which, in addition to efficiently managing their spending and saving, will contribute to creating a more sustainable society.

Repsol’s General Director of Clients and Low-Carbon Generation, María Victoria Zingoni, has indicated that this “important association” shows the commitment of both companies to the consumer, who increasingly wants to be a part of the energy transition by producing their own energy .

Repsol has more than 3,700 MW of total installed low-emission generation capacity and 1.35 million electricity and gas customers.
