Telefónica’s major movement in the commercial field in Spain. The operator has announced today that Movistar has updated its portfolio so that all its mobile lines, except prepaid, now have unlimited data. A trend initially launched by Vodafone, and which later spread to other companies in the sector.
The change is for miMovistar, Fusion and Mobile Contract customers. The improvement is free of charge and is applied automatically from yesterday to all customers, both current and new. However, Movistar is going to apply an average rate increase of 6.8% as a result of the increase in costs in the sector.
In a statement, Telefónica indicates that the charges for exceeding the data franchise are also eliminated in those lines that have it. “When this is consumed, customers will now be able to continue browsing at a lower speed, but which allows reasonable and sufficient use of most Internet services,” says the teleco.
According to the operator, with this movement, together with unlimited voice, all Movistar lines allow browsing at ultra-fast 5G speed without data limits and allow customers to always be connected without worrying about possible excess consumption.
In those lines that have a data franchise, when this is exceeded, it will be reduced to 2 Mb, enough to obtain a reasonable user experience when browsing the Internet and using messaging or streaming video services, among others.

In addition to unlimited voice and data, Movistar also includes Movistar Cloud, a service that allows unlimited storage in the cloud on all the customer’s mobile lines so that you can save all your files, photos, videos and documents in one place or consult them from the application included in the Movistar Plus+ decoder.
Similarly, Movistar includes the integrated Secure Connection service, to navigate protected and with total security both on mobile devices and on the home Wi-Fi network.
