The Xiaomi Pad 5 touch tablet goes under 350 € at Amazon Marketplace. It is currently one of our best value for money.
For its official debut in the tablet segment, Xiaomi is offering a Pad 5 at an attractive price and with a seemingly solid technical sheet.
The world of touch pads has largely focused on the top of the range, with a number of products priced above €600. True to form, Xiaomi intends to offer a premium experience or almost at a very affordable price. The brand achieves this without any problem with its Pad 5, thanks in particular to a very well calibrated screen, more than satisfactory autonomy and good performance. We can of course regret a fixed refresh rate, a non-expandable storage space and the need to buy the stylus separately, which is nevertheless one of its assets. But overall, the device delivers a seamless and enjoyable experience, and a compelling “official” debut for Xiaomi in the European tablet market.
Points forts
- Very well calibrated screen in “Standard” mode.
- Very comfortable autonomy.
- Performance at the top.
- Ability to use a stylus.
Weak points
- Optional stylus only.
- Fixed refresh rate.
- No fingerprint reader.
An alternative
Far from being a bad tablet, the Lenovo M10 Plus (3rd Gen) isn’t flawless either. It can easily be used as a family tablet, for young and old alike. Its screen is good, as is its autonomy which will delight more than one. But it shows its limits quite quickly, especially in terms of performance, which even if they are respectable, will find their limits in intensive use. As often with tablets, the photo section is to be reserved for videoconferences.
