This Tuesday, the mayor of Fernández Oro, Mariano Lavín, reported in an official statement that rescinded the land swap agreement in the city following the controversy that has been generated these days. The councilor, Walter Soto, had previously confirmed that the agreement would continue.
During the last session of the Deliberative Council of Fernández Oro had been approved an ordinance allowing the sharing of municipal land for several lotes in the fenced area with a private company. The decision made by the city councilors caused discomfort among the residents, they even made requests to repeal this ordinance.
This Tuesday, Lavín published a video giving his opinion on the subject: «We worked on the project respecting the organic charter and the ordinancesabsolutely convinced that it is a strategic project and absolutely necessary for our city.»
Although he was of the opinion that he was not treated correctly, “I made a mistake, which was not having generated, prior to these instances, an open and public debate so that everyone who is interested can contribute to the project”, he explained.
And he assured that he was informed regarding the controversy that this project generated in the neighbors: «I know how to listen to the claims of the community that calls for more information, transparency and participation in this project»
“I made the decision to terminate this agreement,” said the mayor of Fernández Oro
Lavín confirmed the termination on the official Facebook account of the Fernández Oro municipality: “I am not going to allow this to be questioned for that reason I made the decision to terminate this swap agreement, to return to zeroand to generate an instance of participation and debate where all voices can be represented».
And he anticipated that will convene a debate to analyze the project once more. “I am going to convene the urban planning body where the Deliberative Council, the Executive Power, the elected authorities, the city institutions and all the neighbors who are interested can participate so that together we can achieve the best result for our city,” he concluded. .
How was the land swap project in Fernández Oro
According to what was known in the project approved by the Deliberative Council, it allowed the exchange of land for lots in the area of the fence. It is regarding more than 23,000 m2 of lots destined for green spaces, fiscal and municipal reserves of the city.
From the neighborhood party Frente de Oro They issued a statement on this situation in which they denounced the actions of the mayors.
“Thus, spaces planned for common uses and part of our heritage, have been “exchanged” through a ruinous operation with a Real Estate Agency, receiving in exchange a rural plot of 14 hectares in the fences of our city (Ex Ladavaz Poultry Hatchery). Expressly and secretly, without a public hearing or registration of opposition, Gustavo Amati, with the complicity of Pancha Rebaliatti and Walter Soto, sold lots in Piedras Blancas, Don Higinio II, Los Troncos, La Viña, La Clementina among others in an inexplicable way,” they explained in a statement.
They also ensured that the plot that the municipality received “does not have services, infrastructure or legal deeds”.
From the municipality they explained this morning that the income obtained from the sale of the industrial lots would be used for the purchase of heavy machinery and thus improve the provision of public services.
They indicated that the initiative would allow the consolidation and expansion of the industrial zone to attract new companies that will generate more than 500 sources of direct work, promoting the economic and commercial movement of the town.
They also referred to the parcels that were to be exchanged for the land. They communicated that the eight parcels correspond to 23,800 mt2 without electricity and gas services.
