The general director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo, pointed out that following facing the pandemic, vaccination and recovery following natural disasters, the request of the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to improve times and quality of care; What follows is to focus on people’s well-being.

“That the entire IMSS is regarding well-being, that everything the Institute does has to do with the well-being of the people, that everything we do in daycares, in the procedures that are facilitated for people and we give them back hours of their life, in medical care and places like this cinema, theaters, social security centers and what happens in each of the offices, let us think that we are that institution that people look to to seek well-being,” he said.
Zoé Robledo highlighted that in the last month four regional meetings were held in Tijuana, Oaxaca, Aguascalientes and Mexico City, a period in which changes for the better have been faced in terms of giving certainty and direction to the historical process that is being experienced in the country and in Social Security. “Transforming an institution has costs and risks, but at the end of the day one assumes them thinking regarding the future, regarding the long years and not regarding the circumstances of the next day.”
He added that in the Central Region, which includes 11 OOAD and 14 UMAE, three billion pesos (mp) have been invested in equipment during 2023; and 667 million pesos in conservation and maintenance.
He highlighted that there are results that cannot be detracted, such as the increase in the number of specialist doctors, in the purchase of equipment, in the contracting of services and the growth in the number of beds, this despite the pandemic.
Zoé Robledo signed as an honorary witness the agreements made during the three days of work at the tables of the 5th Central Regional Meeting.
In his speech, the director of Operation and Evaluation, Javier Guerrero, indicated that through the regional meetings of the IMSS at the national level, a work method and format has been consolidated, where the commitment, loyalty and responsibility of the heads of the Representative Offices and directors of UMAE, in order to consolidate the legacies proposed for this year.
“We have the great opportunity in our lives that our time at the Mexican Social Security Institute results in good things, because in the Institute we do not see numbers or resources, in the Institute we see lives, hope is generated, expectations are consolidated, The future is built and in that sense we have to do our best,” he said.
For his part, the general secretary of the IMSS, Marcos Bucio Mujica, said that today Social Security is more productive and has healthy finances with additional income of 23 billion pesos, as well as the greatest physical investment to conclude between 2023 and 2024. hospitals in San Alejandro, Puebla; Zaragoza, Mexico City; Tula, Hidalgo; Ticul, Yucatan; Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, as well as Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas.

Meanwhile, the head of the OOAD Mexico City South, Luis Rafael López Ocaña, highlighted the commitment to complete 10 works this year in order to improve the care of beneficiaries, such as the delivery of 100 beds in a hospital complex in the Tláhuac Mayor’s Office. , improvement of sports and the Independence Unit, concluding the State Reference Center for the Care of Boys and Girls with Cancer (OncoCREAN) of the Regional General Hospital (HGR) No. 1 “Carlos MacGregor”, among others.
When speaking, the head of the OOAD Mexico City North, José Antonio Zamudio González, stressed that constant work is being done to “make a strong close” to this year; As an example, there will be the conclusion of the Simulation Center for Maintenance and Conservation of Medical Units, and work is also being done in coordination with the Directorate of Medical Benefits on the proposal for the Oncology Center on the Lindavista property.
