Al-Marsad newspaper: Dr. Natalia Konskaya, a Russian nutrition expert, announced that drinking lemon water improves the digestion of food and helps fight viruses.

In an interview with the Russian RIA Novosti news agency, the expert indicated that water with lemon helps fight viral diseases and contributes to the synthesis of collagen and the absorption of iron, zinc and other mineral elements.

She adds, lemon water helps improve the increase in hydrochloric acid in the stomach and the secretion of bile, which is necessary for the normal digestion of food.

She says, “It is recommended to drink 2-3 glasses of water with lemon 30 minutes before eating a day. However, it is not recommended to take this water on an empty stomach, but it is better before breakfast to drink water without additives. Also, the expert does not advise drinking water during eating. And immediately after it, because this slows down the digestion process. But to soften the mass of food, you can drink only a few sips.”
