American tourists stuck in Montreal-Trudeau for two days

Travelers passing through Montreal-Trudeau airport are not at the end of their troubles, since dozens of flights are again delayed or canceled this Monday.

The situation is particularly complicated for tourists who have connecting flights.

This is the case of a group of ten Americans, who missed their flight from Montreal to Boston after having made a stay in British Columbia.

A passenger in this group says there is no flight available to this New England destination for the next two days.

She strongly denounces the attitude of the air carrier Air Canada towards her: “they say it is not their fault. When we missed our connecting flight by 30 minutes. We were assigned another flight due in two days. And they won’t pay for the hotel,” says Brianna, the American tourist.

According to the lady, Air Canada justifies its decision not to compensate them by claiming that the situation is beyond their control.

By late Monday afternoon, Air Canada had still not responded to TVA Nouvelles’ request for an interview.

This American family could be entitled to compensation, according to Jacob Charbonneau of volenretard.ca.

“We have to go and see the reason for the first delay which caused them to miss their correspondence (…) We realize that there is a lot of misinformation, we use very broad reasons to say that the passengers are not entitled to compensation,” he explained.

Brianna and her family will try to get it.
