DIPETHE Patras: Second stage at Barry, nominations for the position of artistic director – 2024-05-09 18:31:53

Second theater scene soon acquires the Municipal Regional Theater of Patrasproviding a temporary solution to the problem that has arisen with the closed, due to renovation work, “Apollo” theater.

The president of our local chapter, Lydia Karathanasopoulouuses the first floor of its offices DIPETHE at Othonos-Amalias 6 and turns it into an industrial theater space, which will be able to serve small theater productions, with a capacity of up to regarding 100 spectators.

The relevant studies are already being prepared by the engineers of the Municipality, for the necessary changes and interventions that will be made in the two lofts of the space, which until now have been used for press interviews, classes, tests and presentations of the pedagogical and artistic results of the Drama School.

It’s regarding the renovated Barry Raisin Warehouseswhich has been the headquarters of DIPETHE Patras since October 2012. It houses the theater’s administrative services, the Drama School, seminars and lectures.

At the same time, the theater stage of the Barry Educational Center (Santaroza 7 & Karolou Street), which has been designed by the DIPETHE of Patras with the aim of serving the needs of the Drama School, but also hosting performances of a research nature, will also operate.

In this way, a “breather” will be given for the accommodation of theatrical productions and activities of DIPETHE, which rents private theaters in the city for this purpose.

THE CANDIDATES

In the meantime, the process of submitting files for the Artistic Directorate of DIPETHE Patras was completed on Friday, April 26. A total of 17 files were submitted by directors, actors, dancers, etc. What remains is the study of the files by the members of the Board of Directors, the interviews of the candidates with the president and the members of the Board of Directors and finally the meeting of the Board of Directors. in which, following a proposal by the president, the new Artistic Directorate of DIPETHE Patras will be highlighted.
