For the past two years, Embracer Group has seemed unstoppable. The Swedish company went on a big shopping spree in the gaming industry and took over game studio following game studio. The peak was reached last year when the group of companies secured the prestigious “Lord of the Rings” license alongside Square Enix. At this point, the Embracer Group was suddenly well known outside of the video game cosmos. But now the once sunny prospects over the company headquarters in Karlstad in the Swedish province of Värmland are clouding over.
