Authorities have launched an investigation into attempted murder and gang violence against the teenager near his school in a poor district of Viry-Châtillon, in the south of the French capital.
According to a police source, the student was beaten up when he came out of his school by several people, who then fled. No arrests have been announced at this time.
Images from the municipality’s security camera system “will perhaps allow us to see more clearly what happened,” the city’s centrist mayor, Jean-Marie Villen, told BFMTV, who denounced “excessive violence that tends to become something of usual”.

When a fire engine arrived at the scene, the 15-year-old’s cardiorespiratory function had stopped and the teenager was taken to a Paris hospital in critical condition, according to the mayor.
This episode comes just 48 hours after the attack on a 13-year-old girl in front of her school in a poor district of Montpellier, in the south of France. The girl, who was seriously injured, has since woken up from her coma.
