Have you ever wondered how much margin Apple actually makes on the sale of each iPhone 15?
Quite surprisingly, the Apple company has decided not to increase the price of its smartphones this year. Better quality technologies therefore, often more expensive, but for which Apple seems to have agreed to cut its profits.
Nikkei Asia thus estimated what each iPhone 15 model actually cost Apple. Sold for €969, the basic iPhone 15 costs just over €400 to manufacture, an increase of 16% compared to the iPhone 14. Apple therefore records €568 in profits on each iPhone 15 sold. It’s less than last year.
The iPhone 15 Plus is, for its part, a little more expensive. Apple must pay €419 for the parts and design of this model, which is 10% more expensive to produce than the iPhone 14 Plus. The profit on each device here is €700, since it costs €1,119 commercially.
Unsurprisingly, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are the most expensive to manufacture. For the larger of these two iPhones, the ratio between the cost of parts and the price of the phone is 47%. As for the iPhone 15 Pro, it is 52%. However, it is on the iPhone 15 Pro Max that Apple makes the biggest profits. Sold for €1,479, this iPhone “only” costs €529 to produce. Apple makes €950 profit on each model.
