A large part of Americans reject the Supreme Court’s plan to repeal the right to abortion. And are mobilizing en masse, like here in Providence, Rhode Island, Tuesday, May 3.

One sunny afternoon in Los Angeles, a bomb explodes outside an abortion clinic. Brendan, an Uber driver, allows Elise, a former teacher who helps women in difficulty to have abortions, to flee as quickly as possible. Both find themselves embarked on a race against time confronting them with a small group of religious fundamentalists financed by a famous businessman. Worse: Brendan finds out his own wife was involved in the bombing. “Men are afraid of the light” is the most pessimistic novel by the author of “The man who wanted to live his life”, “The symphony of chance” or “Isabelle, the afternoon”.
