La Jornada – Capital police recover CNDH property in the Historic Center

Mexico City. Members of the Secretariat for Citizen Security, in coordination with the Attorney General’s Office, both from Mexico City, recovered the building of the National Rights Commission (CNDH) on República de Cuba street in the Historic Center, which since last September 2 they were occupied by a group of women from the Black Bloc.

Minutes before 8:00 p.m., a strong security operation was deployed around number 60 of the aforementioned street, after the complaint that was filed for the alleged assault against a woman and that was broadcast in a video through social networks.

During the police intervention, three women who were inside the building, despite their resistance, were evicted, with no reported attacks.

Through his twitter account, the head of the Secretariat for Citizen Security, Omar García Harfuch, reported that after the police complaint and intervention, “the property from which the aggressors left was recovered in order to prevent it from being used to carry out more actions that put citizens at risk.

The CNDH also asked the capital authorities to address “immediately the complaints that already exist and those that are interposed”, after the damage to the car.

The occupation of the offices of the National Human Rights Commission through the “squatter” action took 19 months, the headquarters was said then to be a refuge for victims of violations of their guarantees, however, a few hours ago it was recovered.
