RIYADH: From now on, licenses will be available for conducting arts and cultural events only through the Abdih portal launched by the ministry. Applications can be submitted at the Culture Department headquarters only at those stages where it is not possible to submit the application through the portal. Before submitting the license application for cultural programs, the documents of approval from all concerned departments and payment of prescribed fees for the programs must also be submitted.
The license can be used from the date of receipt of the license until the expiry date and if any fundamental changes are made after the receipt of the permit, the Ministry must be notified within 30 days. Details of licensees will be published on the Ministry of Culture’s portal and violations will be penalized according to their nature. It has also been informed that the cultural department will have the power to suspend the permit for a period not exceeding three years for those who repeatedly violate the law within a period of six months.
