Road and Active Mobility Path Closure due to Tree Falls: Important Information and Diversions

2023-08-18 18:30:00

Following tree falls that have already occurred previously and after an analysis of the situation, in particular by the services of the Walloon Region (Department of Nature and Forests), a specialized company will carry out the felling of trees likely to fall on the Voie de l’Ardenne à Embourg or on the active mobility route.

The road will therefore be closed to all traffic from Monday August 21 to Friday August 25 between rue du Fort and the entrance to the green waste park, as will the active mobility path.

The vast majority of the trees in the area are in a deficient phytosanitary state following diseases, parasites or the vagaries of the weather in recent years and threaten to fall on the paths taken by the public, indicates the municipality. As of next season, the entire embankment will be replanted with native species and shrub vegetation will be favored in order to avoid, in the future, any tree falling on the road.

Diversions put in place

The road will therefore be closed to all traffic from Monday August 21 to Friday August 25 between rue du Fort and the entrance to the green waste park, as will the active mobility path. Unless there is a local service, a diversion will be set up between Beaufays and Embourg via the rue de Tilff axis, the E25 and rue Pierre Henvard (N633c). Rue Pierre Henvard, which was being repaired, will be open from this Monday, August 21 in the descending direction but not in the ascending direction. This means that towards Beaufays, you can go via rue Pierre Henvard, the E25, the Tilff-Cortil exit, avenue sur Cortil and rue de Tilff. From Beaufays, you will have to travel via the rue de Tilff axis, the avenue sur Cortil, the E25, the boulevard de l’Ourthe, the rue Alban Poulet (at the foot of the Voie de l’Ardenne) and the Voie de l’ ‘Ardennes.
