There is no Indian who does not know Veerappan standing with a big mustache and a gun in his hand. The leading OTT platform Netflix is preparing to make a documentary on the life of Veerappan, who ruled the forests of Sathyamangalam. Last day Netflix released the announcement of the documentary titled ‘The Hunt for Veerappan’. It is said that the documentary, which is going to be streamed on August 4, will be Veerappan’s journey to the unknown stories.
The four-part documentary-series is directed by debutant Selvamani Selvaraj. ‘A journey from a smuggler to a legendary bandit, an infamous manhunt that had the whole country watching’. Netflix has shared the teaser of the documentary with the title. It is said that the documentary will bring out the stories of Veerappan, who was known as the Robin Hood of India because he helped the villagers financially.
Veerappan was captured through a mission called Operation Cocoon. It was the longest and most expensive operation in the country. The documentary, which hits theaters on August 4, will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages.
