The doctor who survived the shooting attack in Brazil speaks

Daniel is the only doctor from the group of orthopedists who survived Thursday’s attack in Barra da Tijuca. He underwent surgery that lasted almost 10 hours at the Lourenço Jorge Municipal Hospital.
The doctors were executed by a gang in a restaurant in Barra da Tijuca.
According to what the authorities reported, this health professional was shot 14 times, two of which grazed him, causing 24 puncture wounds to his body, reported the local newspaper O Globo.

In addition, he suffered injuries to his chest, intestine, pelvis, hands, legs and feet. Two bullets remained lodged in his body and one was removed by the doctors who treated him.
This Friday, the Brazilian Police reported that they found the lifeless bodies of four drug traffickers suspected of having participated in the shooting of the doctors.
The agents located the bodies last morning inside two vehicles that were in two different parts of the city, according to the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro.

One of the fatalities is Diego Ralf Bomfim, brother of federal deputy Sâmia Bomfim and brother-in-law of also deputy Glauber Braga, both militants of the Socialism and Freedom Party (PSOL, left).
