There was a fire at a mosque on rue de Marcinelle in Couillet on Monday, just before 5 p.m. The fire started at the back of the building in the attic. Everyone in the area was able to evacuate when firefighters arrived. It appears that the fire started on the roof at the back, where work was being done. The firefighters were able to control and contain the blaze. Local police of Charleroi established a security perimeter. Luckily, there were no victims.
A fire broke out on Monday, shortly before 5 p.m., in the grounds of a mosque located on rue de Marcinelle, in Couillet.
The fire started in the attic, at the back of the building. When firefighters arrived, everyone in the area was able to evacuate.
The fire seems to have taken at the level of the roof, at the back: work was obviously carried out there, in any case; is it there that we will have to look for the origin of the blaze, it is still a little early to say. Still, the firefighters, under the orders of Lieutenants Renard and Malanion, were able to control the blaze. A cistern was still present on the spot at the end of the followingnoon, in order to ward off any possible resumption of the blaze.
The local police of Charleroi had sent several teams on pace, in order to establish a security perimeter. Fortunately, there was no longer any risk, nor any victim to be deplored.

While the exact cause of the fire is still unknown, it seems to have started at the back of the building where renovation work was being carried out.
