The Last of Us was the great success of HBO in 2023. Launched at the beginning of the year, the adaptation achieved an excellent reception from the public and critics, achieving a not very common success among video game adaptations. The Last of Us Producer Doesn’t Rule Out Spinoff Series

The second season of The Last of Us can count on some changes to develop the plot further, and there is even the possibility that the second game will be divided into two seasons at least, taking a different path than what we saw in the first year of production. While fans are waiting anxiously, the possibility of a spin-off of the franchise already arises, something that has not been ruled out by producer Craig Mazin.

In an interview with The Wrap portal, Mazin was asked about a possible spin-off and showed he liked the idea, but assured that the ideas will only become reality if they are made with “respect and love”. Mazin even assured that Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog and creator of The Last of Us, would also be interested in developing spin-offs.

I don’t know how much more of The Last of Us I personally would be able to do. It’s just that these shows are so big that I’m burning one of the few precious decades I have left telling this story. But at first I have no problem with it. [os spin-offs]. And I’m sure Neil would be interested too.

The first season of The Last of Us adapts all the events of the first game, bringing Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Dividing between faithfully adapting some moments and taking more freedom in others, the production gave up the infected in a large part of the time to give more focus to the drama involving the main characters.
